KAKLIK CAVE :
Kaklık cave, on Denizli- Afyon- Ankara and Denizli Çivril highways,
and 30 km away from Denizli provincial centre, 2 km away from main tour
route which is over road route at international Çardak Airport at 45 km
and in Kaklık town of Honaz District is uniquely beautiful in respect of
its formation and development feature as well as its interesting
travertines and pools similar to Pamukkale, and dripstones, stalactites
and stalagmites. Due to both underground stream that flows through the
cave and the spring that has come out beside the cave and has let some
of its water into the cave close masses and petty small foliate ivy-like
plants have grown on the walls of hydrologically active Kaklık cave,
that receive direct sun light and permanently drip and leak. These
plants that take on different tones of green during the day depending on
the light contribute a distinct beauty to the cave.
The environs of Kaklık cave which is a doline-spring collapse ponor
located active cave is composed of Mesosoic lime stones, Eosine marn,
clay sandstones and conglomerates, miosen-polisen old clay, sand, marn
and lime stones and travertine and alluviums pertainingto quaternary.
Kaklık cave has a length of 65 m in Nortwest southeast direction and
40 m in northeast direction and a circular entrance of 13x11 size.
According to the entrance, the deepest point is 190m, the cave whose
ceiling height varies between 2-5 metres has a second section in the
southwest end of the cave. This section, which goes for approximately
40m, is covered with collapsed blocks inside. On the contrary, the
almost whole area of the main gallery is covered with travertines with
marvellous colors that are formed by the spring water that comes out
outside the cave by waterfalls. There is one more water source about 78 m
west of the main source. Those two sources have the same
specialty.These white travertines that develop in pools in the form of
steps and that develop on these blocks according as a result of the
collapse of the ceiling is a small miniature of Pamukkale.

Kaklık cave has developed based on a east-west direction hidden fault
line within miosen- pliosen old golsel lime stones that are covered by
alluvium and brow rubbles. The cave which was formed by the collapse of
the ceiling of the underground river that has developed in east west
direction according to the fault and has formed a large cavity, is
shaped like a do line or ponor.
Dodurgalar Keloğlan Cave
Dodurgalar Cave is situated
on the Mount Mally's east skirt which is about 3 km west of town and
very close to Denizli-Antalya motorway. Dodurgalar is also a name of a
town which is 18 km. away from Acıpayam District. Acıpayam is about 60
km from Denizli Provincial Center. Denizli-Antalya Motorway increase its
potential visitors. The passage then leads to a natural hall of 145 mt.
Long. There are many stalactites and stalagmites in the cave is 70 cm.
high. Then it reaches to a height of 5 mt. -6 mt. The climate is warm
and humid. There are many natural cabinets and divisions, The interior
of the cave is hall shaped. There is no circulation of air and gas in
it. There are many stalactites, stalagmites and natural columns worth
seeing. They form a beautiful scene.It is hopped that the cave is built
by creator water drops in ten million years. It has not only natural
beauty but also very good for asthma, bronchitis.
ÇAKIRLAR KÖYÜ MAĞARASI
19.10.2006 tarihinde Aydın KTVK Bölge Kurulu tarafından 1. Derece
Doğal Sit Alanı olarak tescil edilmiştir. Çal İlçesi, Çakırlar Köyü,
bodrum Mevkii’nde bulunur. DoğaMağara traverten ocağında rastlanmıştır.
Traverten alımları sırasında mağaranın içinde ve dış bölgesinde derin
çatlaklar meydana gelmiştir. Bu çatlaklar hem dışında, hem içinden
izlenebilmektedir.Mağara birbirine bağlı iki galeriden oluşmaktadır.
Yaprak şeklinde, damla şeklinde, sarkıt dikitler meydana gelmiştir.
Traverten alımı sırasında toprak ve traverten parçaları düştüğünden
taban kısmında su olup olmadığı belli değildir. Fakat sarkıt ve
dikitlerde su damlaları vardır. Mağaranın girişi traverten kitlesi ile
kapanmıştır. Giriş ancak sürünerek olabilmektedir.
ALACAİN CAVE
This cave which is in Acıpayam District has been declared
to be an Archeological Protected Area by the İzmir Association for the
Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage.
Teresuyu Cave: It is in Mount Akdağ's foothills
1600-1700 meters high. It is approximately 10x15 meters. There are
stalactites and stalagmites.
Akkale Cave: It is in Akkale in Çivril District's Homa Town. The cave is about 40 meters long. There are water drops.
Merdivenli Kuyu Cave: It is in Büyük Malda neighborhood of Çal District's Belevi Village.
İncirpınar Cave: It is in Köprü neighborhood of Babadağ District's İncirpınar Village.
Köy Çukuru Cave: It is in Kozlar Village of Tavas District.
Öğle Kayası Cave: It is in Pınarlar Village of Tavas District. The cave is about 15 meters long. Its depth is unknown.
Karabey İni Cave: It is next to the Büyük Menderes River in Güney District's Border.
Çakıroluk Cave: It is near Kızılcabölük Town of Tavas District.
Eski (Old) Kale Cave: The cave is in Eski Kale
neighborhood of Kale District. There are many caves which were
inhabited. It is thought that the caves were made in the Ancient Era. It
is said that the caves are as large as Ancient Kale Town.
Kapuz Cave: It is on Mount Karkın on Karagöz Plateau
in Gürsu Village of Çameli District. The cave is located between two
high hills and worth seeing.
