“LIVING HUMAN TREASURES” AWARD WAS GIVEN TO HALİME ÖZKE FROM BEYAĞAÇ DISTRICT
Ministry of Culture and Tourism presented the “Living Human Treasures” awards in the ceremony held on 11.02.2020 with the participation of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Republic of Türkiye. From Beyağaç District of Denizli, Halime Özke who was born in 1948, married with three children and residing in Beyağaç, was awarded in the issue of “sipsi maker and performer” and became our pride after Hayri DEV, the deceased. She said: “We used to attend in wedding ceremonies in the village. I learnt how to play sipsi there when I was 7 years old. We used to make fire and dance while playing sipsi. We had no other joy except for these. We also used to work in plateaus. How could you spend time there? I want young people learn how to play and make sipsi. I’m ready to teach”.
